Why Tunisia?

Tunisia is a peaceful country in the middle between arabic culture and western life, between Africa and Europe, between ancient history and modern technology, between holiday and work.
Its biggest advantage is this role as a kind of mediator between cultures, that gives you the possibility to explore another way of life without being totally cut off from western life. People are very friendly and hospital, you don't have to worry about hostility towards foreigners. You find the historic traces of punic society, romans, arabs, french and other tribes that passed. You find one of the most developped countries of Africa, with close industrial contacts to Europe and the US. And if you don't mind about all this, it still offers good weather and great beaches.
No, they don't pay me for this ad, maybe I should ask for.

News
2005-06-02 Replaced guestbook by forum because it contained only spam. The old entries survive on the static page old guestbook. Also marked some links as broken on the links page (maybe they recover ;-)
2004-06-04 IAESTE Tunisia now has its own website. Have a look at it.
2004-03-23 Inserted links to Christian's photo-page (on links) and to Sara's experience report (on training).
2004-01-30 Added a lot of stuff from Christian, thanks a lot! New entries to the dictionary, some additions to the trips section and a photo of our group.
2004-01-19 Some minor additions on the links page to prevent the site from being deleted. Also inclusion of the site's structure on the starting page.
2003-08-24 Added Stefan's experience report and included some contents from Christian's first page, the starting point of this site. Created the links page, but it's still relatively empty. If you want to be linked there, just tell me.
2003-08-15 Added Daniel's experience report (only german). Also added some definitions from Stefan to the dictionary. Thanks a lot for your work, the site is starting to grow.
2003-08-13 Got a new guestbook, since the one from geocities only handles short messages. The old guestbook is still accessible. While searching a new guestbook, I also created a forum (the one in Tunisia is better!!), but I think the guestbook is enough. Anyway, here's the link: forum.
2003-08-09 Finished a basic version. Waiting for already existing texts from others that have to be included. Waiting for personal experience reports and for definitions for the dictionary.
2003-07 Collecting ideas for this website, first documents done by Christian and Stefan.
2003-06/07 IAESTE training in Tunisia.
