The Marionette's Dream is a future musical by George Willson and Sean Patterson. As it stands now, the music is primarily classical, but who knows what the future will hold? Although we've only just begun work on the show, it shows a lot of promise in the music and lyrics, and the story is powerful enough to hold you in until the end when everyone is released...finally.

dotShort Summarydot

The story begins with a puppet named Andra longing for something more than the marionette’s life she has. A man named Walter wishes to give it to her, but the request to release her to the world, and his care, is utterly denied by her master, the Puppeteer. The Puppeteer is astonished by the request and begins to wonder if his puppets can indeed dream of more than he can give.

With Andra a recent, but sad, memory, Walter finds a woman who looks like her, but doesn’t love him to the point that he catches her cheating on him. Walter discovers he has forgotten his real love, and returns to Andra for another shot at the Puppeteer’s agreement. The Puppeteer agrees unwillingly, and broken-hearted, releases her to Walter. Andra knows, however, that puppets without strings cannot survive, but says that it was better to die free and loved, than trapped and alone.
