Why did I add this section and what's it for, is what you're probably wondering. Well the "Extra" section is for small things, that don't need their own page. I have a feeling this page could get rather large, rather fast! I would just like to say that everything expressed here is my opinions, and I'm not going to force anyone to agree with me.

Why did I pick Meilin?

Why did I accept when Meilin asked me to do this website? Well she's my favorite from Cardcaptor Sakura (although I do like them all!) There aren't that many websites dedicated to her, and we thought it would be fun!

Meilin's Name

Melin's name is actually pronounced "Mooy-Ling" It means "Beautiful Rose" ~Ashley Chow
Actually Meilin means Beautiful Forest. ~Lotus
Just a note, I don't study Chinese or Japanese, how to pronounce Meilin's name, and it's meaning were provided by Ashley and Lotus. ^_~

Why do people hate Meilin?

I can't figure out why people hate Meilin. I'm not trying to say that everyone should think she's the best. But I do think she deserves more credit than she gets. If you could only put yourself in her shoes. Think about being in a family where everyone has magic, but yet you have none. I would feel quite left out, wouldn't you? Then there's her fiancee Syaoran, who never likes her "that" way, and he ends up falling for Sakura.
I'm sure people think Meilin is mean and such, because she does come across that way. But she has her reasons, the main reason I can see as to why she doesn't like Sakura is because they got off on the wrong foot, and stayed on that foot! I believe it all started when Meilin arrived and saw Sakura wearing the shirt she gave Syaoran, then the hatred towards Sakura continued from there. But just think of some of these things I mentioned and remember that all this is happening to a 10 year old!

I just want to say that even if Sakura gets Li, Meilin is always going to be my favorite character because she can kick butt and she seems really nice despite what people see her as I'm always going to like Meilin best. I went totally nuts trying to find the doll for my set that was Meilin but I couldn't find it I got really mad. Meilin is my favorite character, and If I were a guy I'd pick her over Sakura any day.~May-Lee Masakie

It seems like I'm the only one who thinks that Meilin is much more than "that very odd girl who tries to make Syaoran's life miserable." I mean, sure she is engaged to her cousin. But who wouldn't want to if that cousin was Syaoran, he is sweet after all. back to the point, deep down she is a very kind, understanding person. She is willing to do anything for the one she loves and pushes herself to meet up to the other's expectations. Her traits are admireable; she's determined, has a taste for life, and is a caring & loving person. yes, she may be obsessed with Syaoran and constantly watching if any girl comes within a mile near, but she's doing all this for her desire to be loved back. She's not that bad of a friend. She has a good heart. I'm not saying that her and Syaoran should have ended up together, its just sad the way she feels and expresses her feelings when she was told about Syaoran's love for Sakura. (To be honest, I'm not all for Sakura & Syaoran. I have my reasons.) Ah, to be young and in love. rather strange really..~Thorn

Meilin is cool, awsome, exciting, determined, and caring for Syaoran. What I don't get is everybody hates Meilin. Probably because she has no powers, she WAS mean to Sakura, she's close to Syaoran, she's bratty, and selfish. Now that just ticks me of! Who needs powers! She's cooler than any character from CardCaptors! And define the word WAS people. She WAS mean to Sakura! She isn't now! Of corse she's close to Syaoran. SHE'S HIS COUSIN FOR PEETS SAKE! I know she was bratty but she changed. Selfish?! What's with that?! When did she want money?! Okay I got a little over reacted. Oh well this just stinks to me. And I'm a MeiLi fan. And I mean BIG MeiLi fan. Meilin and Li are my fav couple. What's wrong with that? All of my friends are MeiLi fans. And trust me, I get pretty mad when someone yells at me for that.~MeilinCutiePie

I like her because she's a lot like me. ((*((^.^))*)) She is sooo cute! And I used to do my hair that way. I think Li should go with Meilin. Li and Meilin were childhood sweethearts! Nothing should brake that! Even a thief of heart like Sakura! I also loved the fight between her and the fight card. Who needs magic when you can kick magor @ss?~Rockett

I think Meilin is such a good character and doesn't deserve to be hated I mean she knows Shaoran more than anyone else, she took martial arts with Shaoran, she doesn't have goofy costumes (but a cool ceremonial costume from her family), she isn't perfect (and i find that normal because a 10-year-old girl can't be soo perfect), she doesn't whine (I mean whinning is sooo annoying x.x), she isn't afraid of everything and looovees action and adventure (gotta love her for that ^_^) and a whole bunch of good stuff. and those are the reasons i absolutely looooooovvvvveeeeee Meilin-chan!!!!! ^_^ ~Luannita12

I think Meilin is the best!! I mean not only does she have an awesome fighting costume, but she's not perfect (no offense Meilin). I think everybody's right Sakura is way too perfect (its annoying). I also like Meilins since of style, and I like that she's good in martial arts. I think that Meilin and Li deserve each other, they make such a cute couple. Meilin is cute, nice, funny, and good at martial arts what could Li not like about her and why could he like Sakura more? ~JDWMS
I like her costume too! I also like characters who aren't perfect. It makes them more realistic.

Don't give Meilin any ideas!

Later, when Meiling finally accepted Syaoran loving Sakura and not her, didn't she help Tomoyo try to put them (Sakura and Syaoran)together...? ~Megori
I'm not totally sure if Meilin helps Tomoyo later on or not. Can anyone confirm this? If she does that's quite mature. Sailor Sakura has confirmed that in the second Cardcaptor Sakura movie Meilin helps Tomoyo get Syaoran and Sakura together. Very mature. *claps*
I kinda hated Meiling (Meilin) too for a while, but then I saw the episode where she left and went home, to Hong Kong. I was finally able to hear her side of the story. Syaoran was ever so nice to her, who couldn't help for falling for him?! Actually, I've kinda caught the disease of "Falling for Syaoran" very catchy. You should never ever judge anybody without listening to their side of the story! ~Luna

Being not too pefect is good! Anyways I agree with all those things you said about Meilin. I had to add in the part about Sakura, because although I like her I must admit she is very perfect, and everyone likes her!
