TSUNAMI RUGBY
TEETOTALLERS

The Teetotallers are a touring side in the traditional sense of the word. In true Barbarian style we will be asking our players to wear their own club socks on the field and whatever they feel comfortable in off the field.
The Teetotallers debut was in the Guam True Grit Tens in February 2002 and not only did we live up to our name off the field but we also made it to the final where we lost to a much younger and fitter side!!!!
In May the Teetotallers hit Thailand and were runners-up in the bowl of the Pattaya Tens.
In 2003 we returned to Guam but with a depleted
squad. However we picked up some converts and although our results were not as
good as the previous year we showed that we had lost none of our off-field
spirit.
In March the boys joined up with a team from Pattaya and ended up third in the
Manila Tens. One week later we entered the Kowloon Rugby Fest - one of the
events leading up to the Hong Kong
Sevens. Despite the team - in true
Teetotaller tradition - being a band of misfits (many of whom had never met one
another before taking the field) we reached the final. Unfortunately the US
representative team we met were far too serious and young and the cup
eluded us.
Plans are afoot to enter the Pattaya Tens once
again as the Teetotallers look to spread their message around Asia.
Any player - no matter where they are based - who wants to
play exciting attacking running rugby (well that's what the coach says) and
enjoy the odd cup of tea and cucumber sandwich should contact us for more
details.
