TSU Women’s Basketball Drops SWAC Opener

Baton Rouge, LA-Despite rallying from a 16-point halftime deficit, the Lady Tigers were unable to overtake Southern as they fell to the Lady Jaguars 62-57, Saturday, at Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It was the fourth straight defeat for TSU (3-4) after beginning the season 3-0. TSU trailed 37-21 at halftime, but put on a furious second half rally led by LaTasha Thompson with 15 points. Kanesha Randle had a strong effort scoring 11 points and seven rebounds. Southern shot 40% for the contest, opposed to TSU’s 37%. The Lady Tigers return to SWAC action, 7 p.m., Monday, December 11 against Alcorn State.
