Alcorn State Men Extend Streak Against Texas Southern

ALCORN, MS-Jason Cable and Brian Jackson scored 22 points each as the Braves extended their home-winning streak to 28 straight with a 93-74 victory, Monday in Alcorn, Mississippi. The Braves have the nation's second longest home winning streak in the country. Alcorn was on fire in the first half, shooting 75 percent from the field. Chris Miller's 20 points led Texas Southern. Ricky Bennett added 15 for the Tigers. Marquel Timmons, making his first start of the year, added a season high 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting from behind the arc. Alcorn State led 39-29 at the half. The Braves pulled away in the second half by making seven 3-pointers and shot 18-for-24 from the field.
