TSU Players Earn National Honors

Houston, TX - -Texas Southern University kicker/punter J.B. Lacombe and defensive back Santino Hall were named SWAC Special Teams and Defensive Players of the Week respectively. In TSU's groundbreaking 19-15 win over Jackson State, Lacombe booted four field goals on kicks of 23, 26, 30 and 30 yards. He also served as TSU's punter averaging 35.3 yards per kick with three punts for 106 yards with a long of 59. Lacombe was also named The Sports Network I-AA Special Teams Player of the Week for his exploits.

Freshman defensive back Santino Hall tied a school record with interceptions in TSU's victory over Jackson. Each pick was a crucial one, including one in JSU's end zone and the other at the JSU two- yard line. He currently leads the SWAC in interceptions.
