Can Not Identify the family. Photo of Unidentified Relatives? Photo provided by Cliff Davis, Lubbock, Tx. Clifford Davis' parents had the photo with other family photos and family keepsakes, but it had no identification on it. He thinks it came from his grandparents family photos of relatives. Since Watson Studio is in Jacksonville Illinois and Charles Edward Davis made a trip up there to settle his inheritance Clifford Davis thinks he brought this back with him from that trip in the early 1900s.
Can you identify the young woman and children in this photo? If so please e-mail me or Cliff Davis, or Randy Davis.

Photo was thought to be of Christina Liming, but The Watson Studio did not take any photo's prior to 1905. Christina Liming and John Barton Davis were married in 1868 and Charles Edward Davis, their first son was born in 1870. For that reason, Watson Studio could not have taken the original photo if it were Christina Liming. She passed away near Corsicanna, Texas in 1879. If this is a remake or touch up of an earlier photo, then it would be possible. Clifford Davis and I had agreed the original photo on top left was not Christina Liming. Randy had checked with Watson Studio in Jacksonville and they started their business in 1905.

Scan of Photo of glass plate negative A new puzzle comes up however in that my Grandfather Alvah N Davis had glass plate negatives from photographs he took or had taken for him that were taken about 1915 to a few years earlier than 1915. The date the print paper expired on one of the boxes was Apr 1915 and I assume glass plate negatives were taken prior to that as they are in that box with accompanying box from Kodak the manufacturer of the plates. I added a part of one of the glass plates. I think that the young girl on viewer's right in it is same as the young girl or lady in the photo Clifford Davis sent. The glass plate negatives were likely taken around Throckmorton, Shakleford, Young or Baylor Counties of Texas as that is where Grandad was at the time. I think they are same girl in both photo's just at different ages but still do not know who they are. They could be of Roberts family possibly taken in Throckmorton, Co, TX, and they may not be same girl but seemed to share certain facial features. The other oddity is that after just under 90 years the negatives are still useable. They have been kept out of the light and weather and temperature extremes.
