Softly in the Night

When I close my eyes my darling

and I let go of my trivial frights

as darkness shrouds the room

you come softly in the night.

Your shimmering silhouette moves so slowly

as if you wonder.. should I yield?

My begging heart beats that much harder

your loving touch I wish to feel.

A silken robe slides from your shoulders

my pounding pulse it fairly cries.

A silhouette of curves so yielding

a glimpse of trusting seeking eyes.

My arms wide open, bid you truly

my bed of love will feel so right.

Fear not my precious lover

when you come softly in the night.

Your warm sweet flesh brushes slowly o'er me

and I gasp upon your gentle touch.

Caressing you is such sweet splendor

I'll never realize just how much.

Eternity passes much too quickly

as the darkness turns to light.

My kisses fall on a lonely pillow

I dreamt you came to me

so softly

in the night.
