Upcoming Events
Executive Board Monthly Meeting:
February
11th, (Wednesday)
The Executive Board will meet on Wednesday February 11th,
from 6:30 to 8:30 PM in room 504 of the Troy Community Center
3179 Livernois. Discussions will include
upcoming Board elections, city elections, inauguration party, and planning for
general meeting activities. All
members are welcome to attend. Please

TDC General Meeting:
February 18th (Wednesday):
Marie Donigan, the Democratic
State Representative for the 26th district, will address us at our next TDC
general meeting to be held in Rm 302 of the Troy
Community Center, on Wednesday from 7-9 pm. Rep. Donigan
is a recognized expert on Regional Transportation issues, and will address the
increasing need for action on providing improved and alternative methods of
getting around the region. She will join a panel of other representatives from Troy and Detroit Regional
mass transit, each of whom will separately and together address the general
theme of “Connecting Troy
With Our Region”. The Troy Community Center
is located at 3179 Livernois (east of I-75, north of Big Beaver).

CALLS TO CONVENTION:
9TH DISTRICT DEMOCRATS ON FEBRUARY 7:
The 9th District Dems will meet
from 9 – 12 am at 1200 N. Telegraph, Pontiac,
MI in the Commissioner’s
Auditorium. The purposes of the Convention are to (a) approve resolutions to be
sent to the MDP
State Convention, and (b)
to elect people to participate on the Credentials, Resolutions, and Rules
Committees for the State Convention. The MDP State
Convention is on February 21, 2009 at Cobo Hall in Detroit. The meeting is free
and open to the public.
MDP STATE CONVENTION ON FEBRUARY 21:
The Michigan
Democratic Party State
Convention will take place on February 21, 2009 at Cobo
Hall in Detroit
from 8 am to 5 pm. It will feature Governor Jennifer Granholm,
Lt. Governor John Cherry, Senator Carl Levin, and Senator Debbie Stabenow.
Various constituency caucuses will take place during the morning and early
afternoon, with the main convention taking place during the late afternoon. In order to vote at State Convention a person
must be a member of the Michigan
Democratic Party at least thirty (30) days prior to the State Convention. A
