- Backpack or Duffel bag
- Plastic trash bags - Use to keep things dry, dirty clothes, wet clothes, emergency poncho, carrying stuff to/from shower, ...
- Clothes line 20'x1/8" - Put in tent or between trees to hang wet clothes, towel on
- Cup - To drink from at camp
- First aid kit - Band-Aids, Neosporin, ...
- Swim shoes - For use in showers, canoeing, ...
- Small gym bag or book bag – For carrying merit bag books, raingear, swim gear, craft items, ... to and from classes, meals, ...
- Zip-lock bags – For keeping important things really dry; have a variety of sizes from snack to two gallon
- Bucket (5+ gallon with lid - waterproof and can be used as chair)
- Plastic trash bags – 1) clean clothes, 2) dirty clothes, 3) wet clothes during trip home
- Long pants - Never know when it might get cool, Needed by swimming merit badge
- Long sleeve shirt - Never know when it might get cool, Needed by swimming merit badge
- Shorts - One for every day
- T-shirts - One for every day except Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri (wear Summer Camp T-shirt then)
- Shoes - This is an extra pair for WHEN the other pair gets wet, no open toed shoes
- Socks - One for every day plus one extra
- Belt - If needed
- Underwear - One for every day plus one extra
- Towels (two), wash cloth
- Day Pack/Book Bag - carry on vehicle
- Canteen - Not a drinking bottle with straw, but something that can be secured VERY tightly
- Swim suit - For swim test, maybe pack two
- Beach towel - For drying off after swim test
- Rain coat (pants optional) or poncho (vinyl tears easily, consider nylon)
- Umbrella – Optional, in addition to a raincoat/poncho
- Plastic trash bags - You can never have too many
- Merit badge books – In zip-lock bag; Read before camp
- Boy Scout Handbook – In zip-lock bag; Frequently used in competition, a good reference
- Small notebook for notes, large for merit badge papers; pencil, pen – In zip-lock bag
- Snacks - Nutritional, not a lot of sugar
- Gum – Only if boy is responsible enough to dispose of it properly
- Books, games, puzzles, ... for long car trip
- Change of clothes – In zip-lock bag; For next day; underwear, socks, Troop shirt, pants
- Bathroom bag - See below

- Sunscreen - Coppertone Sport is a good one
- Insect repellant – Not aerosol

- Return with bathroom bag, dirty clothes, towel, wash cloth, flashlight in bag, carry shoes
- Hang towel, wash cloth, wet/damp clothes up to dry
- Wet Clothes and Towels
- Any wet or damp clothing that doesn't dry out will start to grow mold and mildew and start to smell very bad.
- Hang any moist clothing on a clothes line either inside or outside your tent. Outside is preferred (especially in the sun) unless it is rainy or foggy or otherwise moist.
- Turn moist clothes over Occasionally and spread them out so they dry faster and more completely.
- Keep moist clothes separate from dry clothes.
- Keep dirty clothes separate from clean clothes.
