Charitable community activities:Troop 29 organized a hurricane Katrina relief drive that was approved by the scout master H. Erlanger, organized by A.Sct.Mstr. Troop 29 scouts that assisted B. Beckman, A.Brouk, K.Erlanger, M. Erlanger, N.Ellington, C.Hanson, B.Kirchner, J.Kirchner, P.Kirchner, M.Sullivan, J.Voelker, R.Welch, J. Welch, Troop 29 adult leaders that assisted were H. Erlanger, D.Erlanger, D.Kirchner, W. Ellington, J.Hanson, Friends of Troop 29 who assisted B.French, H.Scott. The relief drive was held on 09/18/05 for clothing and personal items. The drive collected a semi truck trailer full of clothing donations and $600.00 in cash donations that was delivered to St. Patricks catholic charities for the hurricane victims coming to St. Louis MO. The collection was held at the High Ridge Fire Department, several other adjoining boy scout troops from the River Trails district and Knights of Columbus council 8588, St. Anthonys of Padua High Ridge Catholic Church and other adjoining catholic parishes also donated to this drive. Troop 29 yearly assists with the scouting for food drives in the St. Louis Area on an annual basis in November of every year. The adjoining area Boy Scout troops and Troop 29 collects on the average 17,000 +/-food items for the areas food pantries.: Our troop welcomes the new scouts who recently bridged into the troop in 2007 :.
EAGLE SCOUTS:
B. Blumenburg, A. Brouk, C. Donahue, B. Erlanger, K. Erlanger, P. Kirchner, C. Perry, A. Rudolph, B. Rudolph, D. Rowe, M. Sullivan. The troop postumously completed the eagle project for one of our scouts Andy Mann.
The troop consistently has had a above average number of scouts who achieve the rank of EAGLE in our troop compared with the national average. The EAGLE scouts have done several projects for Eagle scout rank at the World Bird sanctuary, Route 66 State Park, Lions Club House Springs and worked at summer camp as counsulars, area directors. The troop congratulates these young ambitious men who have achieved the rank of Eagle
