TREVOR AND THE SPROUTS
It's hard to believe that even as I type this, I'm listening to a radio documentary about the original Band Aid single. That was twenty years ago...

At Easter 2005, it will be twenty years since another musical milestone - Trevor and the Sprouts played their first public gig, at Trecynon Hall.

Their set opened with Deke Leonard's barnstorming
Romaine, featured obscure covers such as Lindisfarne's Lady Eleanor,  and chucked in crowd-pleasers like I Saw Her Standing There and Dizzy Miss Lizzy, all delivered with a sense of fun that contrasted with the earnestness of the post-punk bands, or the brashness of the heavy rockers that made up the rest of the valley scene at the time. They went to play packed-out insane gigs over the next decade, until finally running out of steam in the mid 1990s, as work and family ties caught up with them.

The lineup may have changed, the hairlines may have receded, but...

THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN!

The 20th anniversary gig took place at the Falcon Inn, Godreaman on April 30th 2005. Some of us still have the hangovers to prove it...

There's a nasty rumour about that it was their last ever gig.  It's up to all of us to keep the Sprout phenomenon alive. Add your views to the guestbook. We need an all-dayer with all the old bands back together - Farenheit 451, Immense Awesome Power Machine, Cripplecreek, Wicca Man, and of course the Sprouts to headline.
Reminisce with other Sprouts fans...
