~UPDATE~

2.11.04 - (posted 1:56 EST) It's been awhile, eh? I've been up and down, around and about, nonsense and the like. By the way, for those of you in the know - and can remember back to 1996 - Happy Seapod New Year!!!! But besides the OSP, what have I been up to?

The past seven or eight months have been spent in a relative frame of normalcy masked by massive insanity. I don't have much to say at this point, but I have been living in NYC since September, and spent about five and a half weeks in Barcelona from the end of December to the beginning of February. That is all. I will update the site ASAP.

ALSO, check out my new, fledgling, fairly horrible Under Eden Blog, which deals with the current political situation and other such nonsense.

ALSO, check back in a couple of weeks because I HATE the design of this site and will probably be attempting to overhaul it yet again. I am, after all, a "wartime" webmaster. Bon a'nit!

7.4.03 - (posted 10:02 EST) So I'm hanging out in Barcelona but at the same time I'm attempting to update my site as much as possible. First of all, everything on the Novel Passage site is up. Excerpts from the new (Seems Reasonable) and the old (LOST) are now on that page, as well as the entire Long Dead & Other Tales Of Inane Insanity collection of short stories.

Second, the F.C. Barca page is not updated, but the news will be good whenever I get around to updating the standings, etc. We won a UEFA spot by virtue of a win over Celta Vigo in the Nou Camp and a loss by Bilbao in the Bernabau on the last day of the season two weekends ago. Those of you who are in the know are well aware of what that last sentence signifies. I'll get the Barca page updated in a couple of weeks...

Also, and perhaps most importantly, we have a new Continuous Nonsense piece, which is complete garbage and complete nonsense. Entitled Saddam Hussein Is A Shitty Pool Player.

6.18.03 - (posted 14:52 EST) More F.C. Barcelona news is up. Barça beat Valencia on the road this weekend, leaving them with one week remaining to catch Bilbao for sixth place and the final UEFA Cup spot. Also, an interesting article by Phil Ball of ESPNsoccernet.com detials Beckham's reasons for going to Real Madrid - yes, he went to Madrid, if you somehow haven't heard - and the recent happenings La Liga. And, of course, F.C.B. has a new president, Joan Laporta, the man who promised, and, thankfully, failed to deliver David Beckham. Whether or not Beckham plays one game for Madrid, whether or not he sucks when he does play, Real's ability to sign him with ease is a frustrating black eye to Barça.

6.13.03 - (posted 19:10 EST) Posted is a discussion of Futbol Club Barcelona's future and present. Fuck Beckham, let's sign Chivu. The history of English players in Spain is suspect (although Linicker rocked in Barcelona in the early nineties), so why not spend less money for more effective players?

Coming soon we will have more Continous Nonsense, and, on Sunday, more Musings...but first, let's see how Barça does on the weekend, both in the votes and against Valencia...

6.8.03 - (posted 17:30 EST) Posted is the first Sunday's Midnight Musings in well over a year. It's been awhile, to put it simply. The Musings will be brought back slowly and without fanfare, save to say that you will find a Musings on this site on the weekend either every week or every couple of weeks, depending on timing and inspiration. Meanwhile, please continue to check out Continuous Nonsense, which will be updated frequently, at the bare minimum of once a week. The current Musings is entitled The Golfing Gods Must Be Crazy. But first, a new review of what it means to be Musing:

A discussion in common decency, every now and again, whenever one can, come back to see, where and how it may be, hopefully lost, unable to find reason, unable to decipher treason, just down and cold, one two many times attempting to follow font bold...

6.5.03 - The increasingly impressive Chris Floyd checks in again from Moscow in the Moscow Times with his Global Eye column. This week's entry is called Revise and Conquer. An interesting piece noting the increasing questions surrounding Bush's Iraq.

A new entry in the Continuous Nonsense sector of the site is up, entitled, happily, Coked-Up Whores And Crazy Dentists.

And, perhaps the biggest election of the year is only ten days away. The F.C. Barcelona club elections. Head on over to the F.C. Barça section for the complete list of presidential candidates, as I'm sure you're dying to meet the candidates. As you probably know, only members of the Club can run, and it is interesting to see what their member number is, indicating when they joined F.C. Barça's nearly 100,000 members. Also, one of the candidates, Joan Laporta, promises the signing of both David Beckham and Turkish skipper Rustu should he be elected. Sly maneuvering indeed.

6.4.03 - Lots to talk about on the F.C. Barça front. After defeating Malaga last weekend by a score of 2-1, they've pushed to within two points of Athletic Bilbao and sixth place with two weeks to play, an all important spot given that taking sixth means an automatic bid to next year's UEFA Cup. Meanwhile, the world's favorite club holds new elections on June 15th, and depending on who the new president is (taking over for hapless Joan Gaspart), they might fire £30 at David Beckham (English skipper and professional Spice Boy), the other story that has been dominating the rounds concerning Barça.

Also, over in the Media Drivel section of the site, we have a few news stories concerning the idiotic state of these United States. An article about how money runs the States, not democracy. As well as a few pieces concerning the war for oil and the war for deception, both run cleverly by el Tonto Bush.

5.26.03 - Nonsense, all nonsense. Still, we currently have some 'Continuous Nonsense' up, a little bit of F.C. Barça News, and a move to the future. So things are getting up on this here site, althought things won't be fully functional for another month or so. The idea here is to have a site that is dedicated to the written word and to the news that I find to be intriguing and/or important. The most important news stories, the absolutely must-hear F.C. Barcelona news, and whatever else is deemed necessary will find their way onto this site in one zone or another. So please, enjoy the site, and hopefully in the next few months we'll get this thing up to the level of ye olde TrevorEmmitt.com - shouldn't be too difficult, not at this hour.

5.20.03 - I am currently hard at work at redesigning this website. Sooner than later this site will be back in business, complete with new Musings, short stories and novels, as well as articles, news, and reviews. Until then, enjoy this recent article by Stephen F. Cohen.

-THE MISSION-

"This site is dedicated to those who know there is nothing to know, those who recognize there is nothing more to life than the search for substance, indeed the recognition of reality. Nothing short of madcap hilarity can be used to describe what the delicate balance of fantasy and everyday normalcy might be...

This site attempts to present news, reviews, and views, magnifying media, the delirium of manic presidents, and continuous nonsense; to present novels, novellas, and short stories in completed and working form; to participate in Musing and finding that inner note of harmony within a bubble of truth; and, of course, to keep up with Futbol Club Barcelona and the other extraneous details in life that might otherwise evade."
