The Women's Division of the United Methodist Church Board of Global Ministries takes its stand on the September 11 attack... "diplomacy" rather than 'war on terror." The call for diplomatic action resonated from the directors of the Women's Division during its annual meeting in October 2001.

January 2, 2002 is World Day of Peace. Pope John Paul II comes out with his message on this special day of celebration: "No Peace Without Justice, No Justice Without Forgiveness."

The 10th World Assembly in Loughborough, England last July 2001 approved several resolutions focused on gender justice, children, HIV/AIDS, racism, violence and personal & communal spirituality.
