Quote of the week: "I lost sleep because I got so excited thinking about teaching the judiciary act." - Dr. Allen, my goofy history professor

Here I am, still in one piece after exactly one week since my last post. OK, so maybe it hasn't been EXACTLY one week...'tis a small matter really. As you all probably know, I did not successfully unleash my army of ruthless furbies. Otherwise, they would have surely made CNN...or would they? Yeah, of course they would. I did however get sued by Tiger Electronics for using their product in an "odd" and "bizarre", both synonyms for strange, manner. Luckily, Microsoft saw potential in my idea of evil furbies and paid my settlement of a quarter-million dollars to TE in exchange for my wacky plans. How was my spring break, you ask? Swell. I spent it with my family in good ol' Greenville. I just relaxed most of the time...but I did clean the pool...and I have a story. A very noble, heroic, and brave story.  I shall begin...T'was a fine day upon the Nash estate whence I began cleaning thy pool. Pool? Oh, it's French for...cement, water hole. Back to the story...THERE I WAS! Cleaning the pool, when I noticed a frog...yes, a FROG!...swimming in the pool. He...she...it was a frog, alright...ok...whatever... would have surely died if I did not act IMMEDIATELY! SO I JUMPED IN!.....NAKED! Minus the naked part. Needless to say, I saved the frog. Although the frog couldn't speak, it had a sort of "THANK YOU TRAVIS" look in it's eye as it as it hopped out of my life...forever. In other news, I'm back at school. Derr, right? It also turns out that I definitely have a j-o-b lined up for this summer as an Instructor on the RIVER CREW! That's right boys and girls, I'll be working at a summer camp...this...summer...camp...summer? You're probably thinking, "Whoa, I wonder what Travis will look like as a River Instructor." Honestly, I will probably look a lot like I did as a life guard last summer. Yeah, that's me in the bottom left of the picture...what? It must be the genes. Why do I say that? Well, anything I can't explain I usually blame on genes....or Microsoft. Good luck to the troops in Iraq! Have a GR-R-R-REAT WEEK!

Quote of the uh..week: "You have a P.H.D., a Player Haters Degree" - Mase

What have I been doing this week? I want the truth! YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH! Sorry...I was caught in the moment. My week actually started with a whole lot of studying since I had two tough tests ahead of me this week. So instead of a weekend of playing in the sun and getting my groove on, so to speak, I was studying...in the liiibrar-eee (Go ahead, sound it out). Although on Sunday a very wonderful, attractive blonde and I went for a drive in the sun. What is this mystery girl's name, you ask? I am keeping her name...well, a mystery. However, I will substitute her name with a random, fictional name...umm...let's say, Naomi Watts.  So there Naomi and I were, driving around in my Viper...what? We drove around Nacogdoches in the most gorgeous weather. It was relieving, not having to worry about tests for around an hour. Anyways, all good things come to an end, usually two months...huh? I ended up studying the rest of the night for my history test the VERY...NEXT...day. I actually think I did pretty well on it, but attempting to avoid jinxing myself, I don't know HOW I did. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, know what I mean? As you all know, or you're about to, SPRING BREAK is upon us...or at least me. You're probably thinking, "Gee, I wonder what kind of crazy adventure Travis is planning on taking." or maybe "Gee golly wiz, I bet Travis has something great planned for spring break." and most likely you're thinking "TRAVIS IS SOOO AWESOME!" Well let me straighten out the first two statements, because I, Travis, have nothing planned this spring break. The last thought I like, hence it will need no correction. That's right, I am just headed home to take it easy for a week. That is unless I decide to follow through with my elaborate scheme to create an army of super-intelligent/evil furbies. I would then unleash them on the unsuspecting Iraq with the mission to take out Saddam! He would be like, "Aww, look how cute this little furry thing is (because everyone in the world including Saddam Hussein speaks English). Come here you little, cute, harmless, gizmo-looking furry friend - AHHHH! AHHHH! NO CUTE! NOOO HARMLESS! A-YA-YA-OOO! EEE!" or something equivalent to that I'm sure. There's not many problems that can't be solved by the ruthless nature of a super-intelligent/evil furby. Unless you really think about it. I think I'll probably just chill at home, maybe read a book or something. MAYBE, don't push it you book-reader...people. HAVE A WONDERFUL SPRING BREAK!

Quote of the day: "IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!" - My reply to yet another person asking how I hurt my arm...Thanks Perrin.

Ok, ok.  So I haven't exactly been updating this web page every day...week...or month for that matter.  But what really matters...IS THAT I'M BACK!  Kinda.  Let me give you a brief summary of what's been going on.  December: turned 20, WOO-HOO!  Christmas was AWESOME! I got a digital camera (check out the pictures page NOW). OK, that pretty much sums up December.  January: I had some good times at R.A. training and that's about all I remember about JanuWARY.  February: Let's see, I'm doing super-pimp awesome (huh?) in my classes; Valentine's Day was alllllright; and last weekend kinda sucked because things didn't really work out between Bethany and me.  Oh well, what can you do? I think everything happens for a reason, even if it's hard to see why once in a while. OH YEAH, and I sorta hardcore sprained my left wrist while playing basketball. Had to get X-RAYS and the whole bit. At least it's not broken, eh? Anyways, a very lovely young lady by the name of Perrin introduced me to probably one of the funniest things that I have ever seen and NOW, for a limited time offer YOU CAN SEE IT TOO for only 5 easy payments of $99.94 (why .94?, because I accidentally pressed 4 instead of 5 and I'm a stubborn man). OR you could just click here.  Check out Lures & Jigs, it's definitely one of my favorites.  Be sure to click around for hidden goodies.  Have fun with that, I'm going to add some funky fresh pictures to the PICTURES page.  I am still awesome.  Good to be back.  Have an awesome night.  Peace.

Quote of the day: "Don't bake it. Shake it!" - Guess you had to be there

As you all know, it's growing ever so closer to Thanksgiving day.  A day that reminds us to be thankful for all the things we have in life.  A day that we realize how much our relationships with friends and family mean to us.  It's also a day to stuff yourself full of turkey and other yummy foods.  I am soooooo ready for "real" food.  I say "real" food because I consider the food that I've been eating at the University Center to be...sub par.  It will also be great to see my family and friends.  Good times ahead.  As for all of you, I hope you have a most wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.  Great song

Quote of the day: "It's a flying dragon." - My friend Ricky over-reacting to a horsefly

Yesterday, I saw the new James Bond flick 'Die Another Day.'  Although I feel my need for seeing a good car chase and things explode was satisfied, I must say that the dialogue was very cheesy.  Laced with one-liners throughout the entire movie, you find yourself shaking your head and rolling your eyes more than usual in a Bond film.  On the other hand...cool cars...and that's good enough for me.  I'm a simple man with simple needs.  For future reference, I want an Aston Martin V12 Vanquish and a watch with lasers.  I ask for so little.  Realistically, I don't think I'll care all that much about what I'm driving or about a watch for that matter.  There are things far more important in life...and on that note, I hope you have a goodnight and a great day tomorrow.

Quote of the day: "Brown water?" - Yours truly

This morning, I woke up to take a refreshing shower.  When I say "refreshing," you probably weren't thinking of cold brown water...and neither was I.  If you're wondering...no, I didn't take a dirt shower.  Luckily, they fixed the problem today.  My day has taken me on a journey beyond the boundaries of the campus to a place of mystery, fright and excitement...Wal-Mart.  That and I washed my car.  Oh yeah, AND I just finished doing laundry.  Pretty productive day, if you ask me.  I almost feel like I could study.  Hopefully that feeling will soon pass.  Done.  I watched 'Star Wars: Episode 2' with some friends tonight...and I still say it's good for the most part.  I'd really like to see the new James Bond movie this weekend...should be good.  Well, I have to stay up until 2am tonight, doing what you ask?  Who knows what will happen?  My line of work is not for the weak hearted.  It is filled with adventure, excitement...and sitting around watching movies.  Somebody's gotta do it.  Have a gooooodnight.

Quote of the day: "I love the delicate shadow of she, wanting me to be..." - it's from the movie Conspiracy Theory

Sorry, I just don't feel like writing too much tonight.  It's been a really rough day and I don't know...I need to get through some stuff.  I really thought and I was hoping the clouds were beginning to clear.  Take care and have yourself a goodnight.

Quote of the day: "One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life: That word is love." - Sophocles

Today has turned out to be somewhat tiring.  I've basically spent it studying for a poli-sci test that I have tomorrow and doing observation hours for my speech class.  Not a stressful day, just tiring...maybe a little stressful.  It would be great to see the friendly smile of an old friend.

11/19/02

Quote of the day: "I follow my heart...even if it hurts."  - I figured it was pretty relevant to today's post

I haven't had the best of luck with relationships.  I think my longest relationship lasted about 2 months, for one reason or another.  She continuously surprises me.  I'm just waiting for her to give up on me but for some reason, she seems different.  She actually woke up around 4 am to watch the meteor shower with me this morning.  Sometimes you have to take chances on people and not be afraid of the outcome.  Geronimo.

Quote of the day: "Where does Judge Judy fit into all of this?" - A question I posed to my Poli-Sci professor

Geez.  I suppose I have been slacking on updating this web site.  It happens.  What really matters is that I've once again decided to do this...thing.  If I could only see the pure excitement in your eyes.  Ok, I'm hungry.  I'll be back later to update this page...or will I?  Yeah, I will.  Ha. I'm back...and with attitude...minus the part about having attitude.  The weirdest thing happened to me yesterday morning.  When I say "weirdest" I really mean not that weird.  I was awakened by a phone call...wait, is it awakened or awoken or is there even an "a" in there at all? anyways...from an Army recruiter.  Then I walk into the bathroom and see one of my friends that's in ROTC dressed up in his Army gear.  So I finally get inside the shower...but it doesn't stop there.  There's just a piece of notebook paper hanging up, listing off characteristics of men of Christ.  As I'm reading them, I noticed a strange sort of similarity or link to ideals of the Army.  Maybe God is trying to tell me to join the Army...or maybe, it was just really early in the morning and I can derive meaning from anything.  I can even understand the chirps of the parakeet that I'm bird sitting...kinda.  Almost time to work the desk, WOO-HOO!  Mystery Link.

Quote of the day: "FRANCE?!" - My mom reacting to my plans of traveling to France next spring.

My mom actually doesn't  have too much of a problem with me going to France, she said that I just caught her off-guard.  I've always wanted to travel, in case you're wondering.  I figure France is a good place to start.  If you haven't already noticed, I haven't been updating this page everyday as I had hoped I would.  Updating this thing really cuts into my lying around and swimming time.  I'll try to get on a better schedule, but as of now I'm going to bed really late and waking up really late (funny how that works).  Although I'm not going to France until the spring, I am extremely pumped about going and I've been reading everything I can.  I may be obsessing a little over the whole trip, but think of it this way...I'm NOT talking about Harry Potter.  At least for a while.

Quote of the day: "No thanks, Belks is the devil." - My response to a Belk employee offering me a Belk card

Eesh.  I've been really busy as of late.  My friend that suddenly doesn't have a place to stay, is kinda staying at my house until he finds a place or the fall when school starts up again.  Today is my daddio's birthday.  He's...old.  Doesn't look it though, just like my mom.  I'm tired, but I still need to clean up the house a little...maybe.  I'm writing early in the day since I'll probably have friends over later.  Thought I'd share that.  Well, time for the party.  Have a nice night.

Quote of the day: "All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream." - Edgar Allan Poe

It's been a pretty good day so far.  Although I did have to wake up early to paint, put in insulation and mow the lawn, I did get to use a staple gun.  Those are fun.  Right.  I'm writing a little bit earlier today since I think I may just crash at my friend's house tonight.  Another gathering of my old friends, surprisingly not at my house.  I've been asked to bring a movie tonight...can you guess which one I'm going to take?  That's right, Harry Potter!  EEP!  Well, I still need to get ready soooo...Have a splendid evening.

Quote of the day: "Fun! It's like C-Span with lasers!" - Critic of Star Wars: Episode II

Alas!  I finally received my Harry Potter dvd today.  It was a joyous day...a day for celebration, but more importantly, a day to remind ourselves that life isn't all about dvd's and possessions.  It's about family, friends and enjoying life.  Huh?  Exactly.  Pretty darn good movie, you should check it out.  I didn't really do anything too productive today, but tomorrow we begin working on the addition of our house again.  Fun times.  I actually have to wake up early tomorrow as well.  Taking that into account, I better head for bed.  Goodnight.

Quote of the day:  "Your bird is going crazy."  - Me commenting to my friend about her pet parakeet having a nervous breakdown.

You're probably wondering whether or not I got my Harry Potter dvd today.  Or you're thinking I'm retarded because TODAY was Memorial Day and everyone knows that the postal service doesn't work on Memorial Day.  So again, I find myself complaining about a very small matter.  Unless your life depends on you having Harry Potter today, then you would be screwed.  Moving on, I got back to playing tennis today with some friends of mine.  It was a lot of fun even though I was a little rusty at first.  Due to a request from my little brother, he would like me to explain the "silliness" link and picture.  He had to wear the dorky clothes for some sort of skit.  Riiiiight.  For future reference, I will probably be rotating that picture out every couple of weeks or so with another silly picture...and I don't know who created Legos, but they're great.  I'm a little tired if you're wondering.  I think that's my cue to go to bed.  Goodnight.

Quote of the day: "Yikes! Ants!" - My mom responding to a pile of fire ants that she stepped on

I had to tough it without my Harry Potter dvd again today.  It better show up tomorrow or else...I'll just complain tomorrow as well.  Oh well.  While I was cleaning the pool today I found a strange colored beetle.  Just thought I'd share that information with you.  There's no sudden increase in strange colored beetle swimming or anything.  Right.  I've been thinking about giving tennis lessons again to earn some cash.  I don't really have any expenses, but money can't hurt.  Unless you're allergic to money.  Then it might.  So my goal for tomorrow is to find some work...and get my Harry Potter dvd.  If you're looking for tennis lessons, I'm you're man.  I decided today, for the time being, Dashboard Confessional is my favorite band.  Ok, time for chocolate ice-cream.

Quote of the day: "Oh, wow" - My friend Cody's remark to everything

I was disappointed that I did not receive Harry Potter today.  Memorial Day "Weekend" has foiled my plans of a night of movie magic.  Instead, some of my good ol' friends came over and hung out.  To my surprise, one of my good friends from SFA gave me a call and we went and had lunch.  After she left, my friends and I came back and played a little volleyball.  My uncle Ben came back from France today for Memorial Day, which was pretty cool.  I hope to travel to France one day, as well as many other beautiful places.  Anyways...later that night, my friends and I chilled at one of my other friend's house and relaxed in the jacuzzi.  I'd like to note that in the future I would like a jacuzzi.  With that said, I must attend to my guests.  Goodnight.

Quote of the day: "If I had a pet pelican, I would teach it to steal things.  No one suspects the pelican."

Today was interesting.  My relatives from Buffalo, New York came down to visit. It was nice to see them.  I also received an e-mail from Amazon.com informing me that they shipped the new Harry Potter dvd today.  Which means that I should be getting it tomorrow since I'm a dork and had it shipped by Overnight Express.  For those of you who may not know how great the Harry Potter books and movie are, I highly recommend it.  For those of you that are skeptical, I say, "Don't knock it 'til you've tried it."  By the way, that quote should not be applied to the use of drugs or other harmful substances.  That's all I have to say about that.

Quote of the day:  "Today was a good day." - Ice Cube

I've noticed that, much like my grandfather, I'm losing track of the days.  Thing is, it doesn't really matter whether or not I know if it's Monday or Tuesday since I don't have any sort of schedule.  This morning I was woke up by a phone call.  I should clear up that when I say morning, I really mean around 1:00pm.  It was one of my old high school buddies, Cody.  So he calls and says the usual hello and I'm 3 minutes away from your house with another few friends of mine.  So in my sleepy disarray I manage to clean up the house a little and throw a shirt on as they arrived.  It was nice to catch up with all of them.  Shortly there after, they had to leave but they were quick to inform me that they would be back later.  To my surprise, by 8pm, I had about 20 of my old friends over all wanting to hang out.  So...we hung out.  We played volleyball to 40 rather than the standard of 15 because some of my friends are poor losers.  I think a couple of people swam in the still very chilly pool.  We also chilled on the trampoline...yes, all of us.  I think the trampoline was very close to breaking but, oh well.  I've just noticed that I'm writing far too much.  In short, today was a pretty good day.

If you don't already know, this character's name is Hobbes. He's cool.

You are the I've been meaning to get this thing fixed. person to visit this web site.

I like chocolate ice-cream.
