Dai La pass, 2/7's headquarters until we went to the LZ Ross/LZ Baldy area in August.

It sat in a horseshoe shaped canyon with a fairly deep ravine down the middle of it.  Golf company's area isn't visible. It is hidden by the hill Norm was standing on when he took the picture.

I was here for a couple of days when I first got into country and for a couple of days that summer and that was about it.

Hill 22.  Probably taken in February/March 1969.

By the standards of the time it wasn't too bad of a place.  We did have a psuedo messhall.  As I'm remembering it, it only served lunch and you ate outside, but it was a hot meal.  I think we are standing in 1st platoon's area.

Don't know who this is.

Just looking at the countryside and the living conditions this is almost certainly at Tugboat.

The ARVN's also had a platoon sized base near here.  You can just see it above the pointed tent on the right.

One day they had a bunch of us over for lunch.  No idea what we ate, but raw pork fat seemed to make up a big portion of it.  I figured we'd all come down with Trichnosis but what the hell we ate it anyway.

Pretty sure this was taken at Cobb Bridge.

Probably taken as 1st platoon was leaving for a sweep.  We are standing on the road that ran throught the base.  The bridge is behind this Marine.

Notice the small building on the right, this was our 4 hole crapper.   It was conveniently located next to the road for easy viewing of passerbys as we took a dump.
