Paris, France

Beautiful Cathedrale de Notre Dame
Pete's artsy shot of the Eiffel Tower

That beatific smile remained on Pete's face the entire time we were in France. He loved it! Here he is on the Isle de la Cite, the center of Paris.

The "jewel box" chapel - St. Chapelle. Construction of this chapel began in 1246 by Louis IX to house his newly purchased "true crown of thorns."
Arc de Triomphe
Commissioned by Napoleon in 1806 to commemorate his victories, it is the largest triumphal arch in the world.

View of the city from atop the Arc de Triomphe

Another view from the Arc, this time of the Champs Elysee. The Louvre is at the far end of the street.

Two years after Princess Diana's death, mourners are still leaving flowers and notes for her near the tunnel where she was killed.
This is the view of the rooftops from our hotel room. Pete said it reminded him of the movie "Frantic."

Paris is extra special so I posted TWO pages of photos.
