Bath is the city which is developed
from its hot spring. 863BC, the celtic prince Bladud discovered the
remedy value of this hot spring |
|
and made start of the community from
here. For the 'Dobunni', the celtic tribe, this hot spring was considered
holy water presented by |
|
the goddess 'sulis minerva' and never
used this water for any other purposes. The victory of the Roman against
the 'Dobunni' makes |
|
another faces of the hotspring. Spa
were built up side by side the holy shrine. Many bather were attracted
to experience the water and |
|
bath in it. The main part of the current
was built by the British after the collapse of the Roman Empire. Many
buildings are built over the |
|
ruins. Only some of them reveal from
excavation during the last few centuries. |
