through Windermere,Liverpool, Bath, Salisbury, Cardiff ,London and finally back to New Castle upon Tyne again. The nice pics from this
trip will be presented page by page till completed.

The total km. distance from Windermere to Salisbury is so far that may waste us one full day just on travelling. To make the Journey more
comfortably, we decide to break the distance in Liverpool.

Developed from a small fishing village 800 years ago, It became one of the most popular incoming port where different commodities were
traded, including the slaves. During the highest rise of the Great Britain, Liverpool was the 2nd most important trading port after London.
Nowaday, the city is well known as the old residence of the famous 'the Beatle',as well as the home of the world class 'Liverpool football
team' under the motto 'you will never walk alone'. Its rich history is yet preserved. Many warehouses at the Albert dock were transformed
to museums for those who are curious about different phases of development of the big Liverpool city. Many buildings there are now
preserved by the Unesco as the world heritages.

Salisbury farer down to the Southwest of England is quite a compact city which still maintains its traditional Englishlike. Starting from the
wool trade during the mid age, it became the fashion place for the elite class during 1500. Now, it is known domestically for its traditional
fabric and well maintained city layout. Internationally, however, people seem to look over this classic city to the more popular 'Stonehenge'
in its neighborhood just because of the assumed pride of 'the 7th wonder of the world'

view of 'the 3 Graces' from 'the Albert Dock'   'Tate cafe' is at the entrance to the 'Tate Liverpool' in 'the Albert Dock'. It is the largest gallery of modern and contemporary art outside London. The site was converted from a warehouse in the dock.   Another view looking from 'the Albert Dock'   many renovations are on progress to pave way to Liverpool, being the European Capital of Culture 2008. Pic of the metropolitan cathedral can be seen here.   pic of the big famous anglican ' Liverpool Cathedral' from the 'Albert Dock'

The new Chinese Arch was built in January 2000. It means to enlive the Chinatown in Liverpool which decline after the 2nd worldwar.   The current main road of the chinatown is filled with supermarkets and restaurants.   The Liverpool cathedral viewed from the chinatown.   The Liverpool cathedral is the largest Anglican Cathedral in Britain. Its construction was as long as 74 years (1904-1978).    a window glass from a side of the cathedral

a small lane flanked by empty buildings on the downstreet from the chinatown down to the river.   a pub closed by the railway station.   The radio city tower of Liverpool houses the number 1 radio station of Liverpool, the northwest and the north Wales. It is behind a department store.   a regular tour bus can be booked daily from any travelling counter to the Stonehenge.   a walking subway that goes under the superhighway is beautifully painted to tell the construction of the Stonehenge

The prehistorical site of Stonehenge can be dated back to 3000 years ago.   The shopping heart of Salisbury   The northgate seperate the busy shopping area from the more quiet area of the Salisbury cathedral.   salisbury Cathedral is the europe's greatest Gothic masterpieces. being built to a single design in one short, it can keep its unity of style.   The beautiful motif above the entrance to the cathedral
