Bhutan 2003
A trip to Bhutan normally begins and ends at Paro... This is perhaps the most conventional way to get into the Kingdom of Bhutan. But the things are actually not so. In my journey , I started from Phuntsholling, this is the gateway route to Bhutan by road from India. And you will find the town Phuntsholling most fascinating. From here the journey takes 6 hours to reach Thimpu, the capital city. Do remember one thing : if you want something special then leave out the conventional way.... Thimphu is a small, charming capital city sandwiched in the heart of the Himalayas. It sits in its own valley fanning out from the river. Thimphu's development is strictly monitored and buildings cannot exceed a certain height, nor can they be designed in anything but the traditional Bhutanese style. Apart from conventional sight seeing in Thimpu try to have a look at the place called Tangi Cherri- I think satisfaction will be guaranteed. Specially during the month of Oct. & Nov., the nature seems to be gorgeous & ecstatic. Also do not forget get a glimpse of Tala. Here the landscapes are too spectacular.
