Hi, I'm Rico, the frog.  And I live in a wonderful 3rd grade classroom.  I first started out as an egg..

Next, I hatched into a dark tadpole.  I was like a lot of other baby amphibians.  Sometimes I would wiggle and swim around like crazy.

This is Rico, our third grade frog.

One day, I didn't move for a long time.  Everyone thought I was dead.  That's when the third grade teacher gently poked me with her pen to see if I was alive or not.  I quickly moved and showed them that I had two hind legs.

Our adventures begin!  When we arrived in our classroom today, we saw that our Traveling Frogs had arrived.

A few days later, I wasn't moving again.  So, the teacher poked me again.  Once again I quickly moved out of her way.  This time, I showed them that I had two front legs, also!

Now all I had to do was lose my tail.  But, since it was  Friday, I decided to surprise the students when they came back on Monday.  Yep, I lost my tail over the weekend!

The students all thought I was so cool!  Maybe that's why they moved me into my new Frog Terrarium.  Be watching for some more adventures of The Traveling Frog!
