The Transgender Health Alliance (est. 2004) is an international association
of mental health, medical and allied health professionals within the transgender
community.
Mission Statement
To advocate for competent, caring and comprehensive health care for the
transgender community.
Objectives
The Transgender Health Alliance serves as a network and resource pool of
health professionals to collaborate with other organizations to the following
ends:
To promote health education to the transgender and greater community.
To promote education and trans health awareness to the professional community
at large.
To advocate to health industry and government agencies for access to care
and health insurance coverage for transgender health needs.
To promote referral networks of trans friendly health care providers.
To promote resource centers for transgender health information.
To promote research in transgender health.
Membership criteria
Individual membership is open to health professionals who identify as transgender
or who are allies of the trans community.
The scope of membership includes:
Health care practitioners providing clinical care to patients, such
as MD, DO, DDS, DC, DPM, PsyD, NP, CRNA, CNS, CNM, PA-C, RN, MFT, counselor,
physical therapist, massage therapist, dental hygienist, student, etc;
and
those working in a health care setting or health-related profession
not providing clinical care, such as researcher, administrator, educator,
policy/advocacy staff, public health practitioner, etc.
We welcome all health professionals who are trans-identified and community
allies who may be interested in networking with us and helping our mission.
