YOU ARE VISITOR NUMBERCounterSINCE JUNE 16th 2001

First of all, let me introduce myself. I am TPKong, a retired teacher in Malaysia. I have been folding origami for many years. As I age maturely, my origami models have improved tremendously. If you looked at my first few models, you would laugh at them. Sometimes when I took them out of the box , I would scrutinize them and laugh at them, too.
As you know, I never throw away all my old and crumpled models which have greatly helped me to create new models. Sincerely speaking, I have a strong desire to create my own original models. I would like to create as many as I can and post them on my web site to share with other good folders as well as beginners. I fervently hope that one fine day, I would be able to stage my own origami exhibition in my country. But unfortunately, origami or paper folding is not popular in Malaysia. However, I would try my best to encourage the young folders in Malaysia to spread the interest. That is my determination.

MY PHOTO

This is me with my favourite dragon folded with a square paper
measuring 80 cm. square. The height of the dragon is 26 cm.
This photo is taken at the porch of my house by my son with his new
digital camera. I hope you would like the dragon as well as its creator.

My Family Photo

This is my happy family. Seated on the sofa are myself, my wife ( a retired teacher) and elder son
who is a Researcher Officer in Institute of Materials Research & Engineering in Singapore.
Sitting on the floor are my second son who is an engineering graduate and the younger son
who is still in college.

Poem of Origami

The art of Japanese paper folding is origami
Which is greatly appealing to me;
Origami is truely fun and creative
As folders are skilful and imaginative.

They create origami models without glue
In various colours: yellow , red and blue;
Their origami models are fantastic
As they appear to be realistic.

Many an adult indulge in origami
As it is considered as a good therapy;
Some patients are taught  paper- folding
And  the result of  recovery is outstanding.

At wonderful creations children marvel
So they begin folding a simple model;
Their end-product they are proud to see
Hoping someday they will be good at origami.
