EXPERIENCE

10 years commercial Oracle experience, 8 years at Oracle and 2 years development experience with Saville Systems - an Oracle Partner. 14 years UNIX experiennce. 

My roles have included:

-Leading developer of the Parser in the Oracle Migration Workbench including mentoring and training several less experienced developers.
-Giving Presentations on the Oracle Migration Workbench to Oracle Sales Staff.
-Technical interviewer in a four person recruiting team in India, recruited forty people from four hundred interviews. The technical interview was the final interview.
-Evaluating 3rd party middleware software including on site appraisal.
-Analysing, providing and implementing performance strategies for multimillion dollar telecommunication software installations.
-Developing and releasing a new Oracle Protocol Adapter on Siemens Nixdorf unix, and collaborating with Siemens Nixdorf Mainframe development to use the same Protocol Adapter on the BS2000 mainframe.
-Junior Oracle representative at TPC-C benchmark in 1994.
-Overseas experience including eight months in Netherlands with Oracle and eight months in Edmonton, Canada with Saville Systems.
EMPLOYMENT

Working on the Oracle Migration Workbench, for migrating databases such as Microsoft SQLServer to Oracle 8. Responsible for parsing sqlserver T/SQL to PL/SQL, using java and Javacc.

Working on Telephone Billing Systems for Saville Systems, mostly on GUI development and Performance issues using PRO*C and Oracle 7.

Team sports allow me to meet new people with whom I share a common interest.

At college, I rowed regularly, and was also involved in waterpolo and volleyball. Currently, I play soccer regularly within the company, and keep some level of fitness by playing squash and weight training. I enjoy extending my range by attending night classes in such topics as: acting, public speaking, German and philosophy.
