| Welcome to my new beginnings! ... Most of you have known me as Jenny, through the band - "FAIREWING", though I am now flying solo! I will greatly miss working with my past-partner, Shelia... Though, as we have gone our separate ways, new opportunities have opened up for both of us! I will always love her & wish her the best in all she does. For those of you who only know me as "TOPAZ" - Thank you for joining me in the journey! I am excited about everything that is happening right now. Since I have usually been an accompanist my whole life, breaking free into a solo musical career is refreshing and empowering! I AM MY OWN WOMAN! My music is characteristically uncharacterizable. I am a percussionist and multi-instrumentalist, as well as vocalist. I can play piano, mandolin, hammered & lap dulcimer, bass guitar, clarinet, and some guitar (though I am not very proficient in the stringled instruments). I love experimentation and improvization and my music is influenced by international sounds (India, Africa, The Middle East, Ireland, Native America), and the stylings of jazz, blues, funk, folk, soul, rock, pop, hip-hop, classical, & more!!!! All new music is based on what has come before us- Our ancestors have laid a solid foundation with which to work from. Thank you! |
