Sigh...

Well, this was a right cock-up. The CD didn't burn properly and the awesome little easter egg of the files on the CD that you were supposed to find by accident didn't burn properly.

Should you find this link (and I hope that you do, it's kinda more obvious than the previous subtle hint), here are the things that were supposed to be on the CD.

Oh, and those two folders were put there by the Nero program, and I couldn't delete them. Curse that program! *shakes fist*

Read Me!

*double sigh* now it doesn't want to upload the text file... fine, it's now posted below, but without ANY formatting whatsoever... damn technology is defeating me today...

Pauly's Uber-Pro Mix CD 2!!!

This is a little listing and description of songs on this here mix CD that I've created. This is a special feature of the CD, especially for YOU! If there are any speeling misteaks pleese do'nt hlod it aginst mii.

They be laid out like so:

#. Song, by Artist (Album) [Time]

If the song didn't come from an album (i.e. it's a random track downloaded off the internet), then the album portion will be missing. Underneath will be a little description by me, explaining where it came from, why I like it, etc.

1. Mac Startup Sound, by Apple [0:02]
This is the sound that plays whenever a Mac computer starts up, and since is the start of the CD, I thought it was appropriate!

2. Windy & Co, by Robin Beanland (Conker's Bad Fur Day) [8:49]
This is the overworld theme for Conker's Bad Fur Day from the Nintendo 64. In the game the theme changes style depending on what area you are near, but maintains the same tune throughout. This track is all the variations put together into one catchy tune!

3. Candyman, by Christina Aguilera (Back to Basics) [3:14]
A big band classic is brought screaming into the minds of a new generation with this take on 'Boogie Woogie Bugel Boy' by Christina (we're on a first name basis). She certainly belts it out, doesn't she?

4. Don't Dance to This, by Umbilical Brothers [3:21]
Fun fact: every sound in this song is made by one of the pair (although obviously not at once). This catchy dance tune was provided as a DVD extra on their Speedmouse DVD with an equally hilarious video clip.

5. Cogs in Motion, by Jared Emerson-Johnson (Sam & Max: Season 1) [5:55]
As a small sample of the fantastic music from the hilarious Sam & Max games, I think this is a fantastic sample, containing rich melodies and great improv solos that make the music toe-tappingly great.

6. The Stuffing, by Tripod (For the Love of God) [3:54]
This song was a fantastic way to combine audience participation: having parts sung by difference audience sections; and a great way to end a gig: utilising three-part harmonies to get an edge over other musical acts.

7. She Amazed Me, by Rivo Drei [3:33]
This song started as a blog post by Dilbert creator Scott Adams. He got his readers to contribute two lines (that didn't have to make sense) to a pop song which he arranged into the lyrics. A reader then created a tune for the lyrics, and you wouldn't know that it was originally created as a joke!

8. Funky Tonight, by John Buttler Trio (Grand National) [3:39]
This upbeat song is just good. It gets stuck in your head (which isn't a bad thing), and keeps you in a good mood all day!

9. Stranger in Moscow, by Transformer di Roboter [3:39]
The site I got the Mac Startup Sound from also had a link to this song, as it uses it as part of the bass line! I love the old video game sound and that's why I love this song, even though I downloaded it out of sheer novalty value.

10.Starlight Jamboree, by Namco (Katamari Damacy Original Soundtrack) [2:56]
This end-of-level tune is an example of the wonderful Jpop that is contained in the Katamari games, among other genres. This song is catchy and rewards a level well done.

11.Tales of Girls, Boys & Marsupials, by The Wombats (A Guide to Love, Loss & Desparation) [1:10]
This little accapella piece was a nice suprise after using a gift voucher to buy their album after hearing 'Let's Dance to Joy Division' on the Triple J Hottest 100 CD.

12.Dirty Power, by Tripod (Perfectly Good Songs) [3:32]
While not laugh-out-loud funny like most of their comedy songs, I really like this track for its subtly humour and three part harmony, something I think Tripod is losing as they become more and more mainstream.

13.All of This, by Shaimus (Paper Sun) [2:35]
This might disturb some, but I 'found' this track through Guitar Hero. If it weren't for the fact that Guitar Hero didn't start out so metal and brimstone then maybe I wouldn't have found this track by an awesome (I'm assuming) indie band.

14.Freeland Police, by Jared Emerson-Johnson (Sam & Max: Season 2) [2:18]
This track opens each episode in the second series of games and sets the mood perfectly, suggesting that you're in for quite a ride following the crazy antics of Sam the dog and Max the hyperkinetic rabbity thing.

15.Do Your Thing, by Basement Jaxx (Singles) [4:19]
This upbeat dance track puts you in the perfect mood to dance the night away: pure happiness! Again, another song that made me go out and buy the entire album.

16.Everylasting Love, by Jamie Cullum [3:22]
This is actually off the 3rd version of his Twentysomething album (Bridget Jones special). I only got the 2nd version, so I went and downloaded this as I like the song, the artist, and was in no way going to pay again for the exact same album minus one song.

17.Que Sera Sera, by Namco (Katamari Damacy Original Soundtrack) [5:31]
A little jazzy song from the Katamari soundtrack, about a man wanting to roll up into a star in the sky with his loved one, mirroing the action of the games: rolling stuff up into giant balls to turn them into stars... the game is kinda weird, isn't it?

18.Red Carpet Extend-o-Matic, by Kyle Gabler (World of Goo Soundtrack) [4:03]
While only the first part of this song is actually heard in the game, the rest of the song was included in the downloadable soundtrack. A flowing melody over a thumping dance beat attracted me to this song.

19.Casey, by Darren Hayes (This Delicate Thing We've Made) [6:26]
I've always liked Darren Hayes, there's just something great about his voice, and this song off his self-published album caught my ear. The way the song just flows along nicely, and then gets a thumping bass to get you moving part way through made it appealing (this seems to be a growing trend among songs on this CD).

20.Please Don't Leave Me, by Pink (Funhouse) [3:51]
The final song, fittingly, says 'Please don't leave me'. About a woman who wants to be independant even if it means resorting to violence, but realises that she can't do it on her own. A good metaphor for this CD which, while awesome, can't play itself, requiring the listener to get it going.

BONUS TRACK!!!
Fugue, by James Morrison (Three Minds: Swing) [4:35]
This was actually going to go between tracks 7 & 8, making it a 21 track CD, but when transferring the songs into Nero for burning onto CD they went for longer, meaning one of the tracks had to be dropped. This was it, but it made it here as an MP3! This song starts as a straight baroque song, but gets a little jazzy twist in there from the fabulous James Morrison.

Ok, bit of a gaff here. I was going to put the music video to 'Don't Dance to This' on here, but I can't find the DVD to get it off... Hmmm... Anyway, instead I've got this little video off the internet about a guy who has a... unique... startup sound for his laptop.

...

Ok, sodd that off as well. It won't fit on the disc. Here's the link to the website where I got it from:

I highly recommend you have a listen!
