San Mateo County Environmental Health Regulators
(Do you scientists out there make this much??)
:Disclaimer: Please note that I cannot update salaries as quickly as the frequency of raises.
Brian Zamora: $108,350.60
Dean Peterson: $ 72,821.84
Elizabeth Rouan: $ 55,203.20
Beverly Baldwin $ 56,867.20
Duane O’Donnel $ 61,380.80
Jorge Gomar $ 56,867.20
Gail Lee $ 61,380.20
All the above salaries were gotten by way of the Freedom of Information Act. I encourage everyone reading this to forward to colleagues the above listing of inordinately high wages ‘earned’ in the San Mateo County Health Department.
I showed the above salaries to quite a few scientists including holders of Masters and PhD degrees, and they were all shocked! They made comments such as "How can I get a job there?" "Every one of them is making more than me!", and "They’re milking the system!"

LEGISLATURE: PART-TIME, PASS NO MORE THAN 10 LAWS PER YEAR AND BALANCE BUDGET! Most laws are junk anyway.
Shown above are current leg salaries. I can provide names for every position listed above.
I’ve known of a San Mateo Environmental Health "Specialist" to pay lip service when visiting nearby scientific laboratories. I was ordered to handle radioactive materials without appropriate training, and was stockpiling spent hypodermic needles because of administrative failure. If he would conduct an investigation instead of only speaking with a company representative, perhaps environmentally unsound processes could be uncovered. In any case, to earn nearly $60,000 for a being merely a regulator, is absolutely corrupt! It’s only a $35,000 job!
And when Smog Check II comes around, just how many more employees at $50,000 to $60,000 will be employed at the taxpayers expense??? Scientists doing actual science in most instances can’t easily earn money like these civil, selfish employees who have show no regard to the taxpayers.
