With the specific purpose for the Believer to come to an understanding that he or she can boast in their weaknesses. That sounds like foolishness to a world that tells us to be strong! It is foolishness to the supposed wise of this world, but in actuality it is the wisdom of God. God deliberately chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose those who are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important, so that no one can ever boast in the presence of God.
Like the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 12, we can boast in our weaknesses.
But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
