Providing Social needs for Special needs children, helping young people grow and develop their social experiences through club activities.  We are looking for people to befriend our children.  If  you are interested in The Duke of Edinburgh Award's - this could  be for you.

Our next major event will be another trip for a week of activities at the Water park Center Coniston in the Lake District October 2002, sponsored by the good people of  Kirklees here in West Yorkshire. If you feel you could help by sponsoring in any way please contact me.

The Phoenix Club is part of the Kirklees Leisure Services -other  organizations meet there almost daily.

We meet every Thursday at 7-0 to 9-00 in the Phoenix Youth Centre, Dunford Road, Holmfirth. Our membership is open to all ages and all disabilities and their siblings. At the moment, we have a membership of about 39, ranging from 11 to 25yrs old. We are a very active group and are growing all the time. We plan many activities including sport, craft, music, dance, drama, bowling etc. Most of our members are unable to have an independent social life and so we try to provide a social setting for them alongside helping them to learn new skills, e.g. sport, swimming, etc. All of this needs funding of course. We would be very grateful if you would consider us as one of your charities in the year 2002 or 2003. If you would like any further information about our club, please do not hesitate to contact me.
