| The following are Pro-Choice Arguments and a Pro-Life response or answer towards it. This is currently being updated regularly so check back to see any updates. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pro-Choice Argument: The Fetus is part of the pregnant woman’s body, just like, say her appendix. Pro-Life Answer: The definition of a body part is defined by the common genetic code it shares with the rest of it’s body; the unborn’s genetic code differs entirely from the mother’s code. Being "inside something" is not the same as being part of something. Just like a car is not part of a garage because it is parked there. Human beings should not be discriminated or targeted because of their "place of residence." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pro-Choice Argument: Abortion is legal. Things that are "legal" are OK, aren’t they? Pro-Life Answer: Being legal dosen't mean that it is moral or right. Plus countless women who have abortions are shocked at the realities of the experience -- both physically and mentally and wonder, "why wasn't I warned about this?" Abortions can cause mental depression along with physical side-effects. In the 1970’s an American doctor could kill unborn babies legally, while in Germany he would have been prosecuted for murder. Laws change. Truth and justice do not. |
