VOLUNTEERING
Volunteering is an important part of my life and I wanted to give some recognition to the organizations I am associated with.
Big Brothers Big Sisters stands for what is right, encouraging people with a little free time to volunteer their experience and companionship with a needy child. There are over 250 kids waiting for a match in Hudson County, NJ alone. And, due to a lack of volunteers, they will never have a chance to experience life with an interested mentor. Think about helping if you can. You could change a child's life.
For eight of the last nine years (I missed 5 years ago while on a trip) I have participated in the Race To Deliver, a Central Park (NYC) run held to help raise money for a wonderful organization, God's Love We Deliver. This group uses donations to provide balanced meals for home-bound AIDS patients in both NYC and NJ. I just ran the 11th annual race on November 21, 2004 and finished the four miles in 34:16, an 8:34 pace.

Inside the Race to Deliver Numbers:

For the last three years the
New York Road Runners Association actually timed each sanctioned race with plastic, electronic chips that fasten to your shoelaces. They give a real insight to just how you stack up against the competition.
