VI. Armament:
Hand Held Weapons:
- 1 x Laser Pulse Cannon: Mounted on a unique lance, this pulse
cannon serves as the primary armament for the Meltran Power Armor. The
cannon is capable of firing short rapid fire bursts at a rate of thrice per
second with an output of 3 MJ per pulse. The cannon also has a high
yield function allowing it to fire much more powerful bursts of 18 MJ every
three seconds. Both of these functions have a range of 5 km. As
the cannon is mounted in the lance, it is not connected to the primary power
source of the power armor, and therefore has a limited ammunition of a total
of 120 pulses at low power, or 25 pulses at maximum yield.
- or 1 x Automatic Rail Cannon: This weapon mounted in the mecha right
hand usually resembles a veritech gunpod, but contains a rail canon as opposed
to normal cannon. The cannon fires 100 gram shell at approx. 37 kps to a
distance of
4 km with excellent accuracy. The weapon
can fire at a rate of up to 120 rounds per minute with a 60 round clip. Most of the time the mecha carried at least one spare clip
behind the left arm shield. The weapon can be mounted on the back when not
use.
Melee Weapon:
-
4 x .2 MW tachyon blade: On the reverse end of the lance opposite
the laser pulse cannon are mounted four tachyon blades. The blades
themselves are short, a little over a meter in length and are arrayed in a
fan like pattern at the base of the lance. These blades can be used
with devastating effect on any type of target and serve the Meltran Power
Armor well in melee combat. The entire array of blades has enough
energy for 120 seconds of continuous use before shutting down. Do the
lack of a power plant within the lance itself, and the lack of power from
the armor to the lance, one the blades are out of energy, they're for the
most part useless until the armor returns to base to recharge the lance.
- 2 x .85 MW tachyon saber: Mounted on the forearm the beam
sabers can be drawn and activated within 0.24 seconds by an experienced
pilot. This beam saber contains enough energy and tachyons for about
90 seconds of continuous use. When not in use, the beam sabers are stored
in the forearms of the mecha, where they are recharged by the
reactor. The sabers can be switched on and off while holding it, in order to
conserve power. Once totally depleted it takes 1 minute for a beam saber to
recharge to full capacity.
- 1 x 2.0 MW tachyon lance: One of the most powerful tachyon melee
weapons ever developed, the 2.0 MW tachyon lance is one shot weapon.
Usually used as a last ditch weapon, or once the ammunition for the laser
cannon and blades has been expended. The lance itself contains enough
power for 15 seconds of use and while this may seem short, the lance is used
only once so this is of little consequence. The lance is usually
hurled like a javelin or spear at an opponent seeking to skewer it and
render the opponent helpless.
Missiles:
- 4 x Hades missile launcher: The shoulders of the
power armor each contain a large missile launcher holding a total of 24
MPZM-3
missiles each. The launchers are internal and have 12 launch silos
allowing up to 12 missiles to be fired in one volley. The auto reload
system has enough missiles to fully reload each launcher once in under 3
seconds allowing for rapid release of all missiles.
VII. Armor:
The armor of the Quaedluun-Mar is composed of an advanced alloy composed
of unknown metals. Whatever the metal, it stops all small arms and heavy
infantry weapons fire, as well as provided good resistance to light
mecha-mounted weaponry, such as the Zentraedi 22.3mm HE autocannon round, and
fair resistance to medium mecha-mounted weaponry, such as the Valkyrie's 55mm
APFSDS round.
The Quaedluun-Mar provided full protection from nuclear, biological, and
chemical hazards, using a sealed cockpit environment. The internal consumables
supplies could provide breathable atmosphere for four days maximum.
