James Beattie
After having been desparate to sign him for years, my wish has finally come true and Jimmy Beattie has put pen to paper at The People's Club.
It was great being at the game where he was unveiled, and it still hasn't quite sunk in that he's ours yet! (Mainly because he's barely played thanks to a stupid red card against Chelski.)

James' scoring record is simply phenomenal and if he can replicate it at his new club, the Champions League certainly beckons!

He's a bit of a heart throb and I always feel that he looks as if he should be in some sort of ponsey boy band... Thank God he's not though!

His nicknames include Cellnet (as in BT... get it?!) and some Blue Roomers call him Pasty Boy and Chubby Boy- but I think that's just plain mean!

His arrival is slightly upsetting though, as it meant that my all-time favourite player has gone to wannbe barcodes, West Brom. Still, even I can see that Kev wasn't particularly instrumental this season (though I thought he was good against Pompey) and it's time to look to the future.

I reckon James is going to be a HUGE success and I'm sure he and Marcus Bent will be battling it out for the honour of the Number 9 shirt.... I don't care which one gets it- as long as they both score a lot!
James has been compared to Sharpy, Andy Gray and other such feet (legends... leg-ends... get it?!)
If he can be anywhere near as good as such players (and I know he can) then the future looks VERY bright!

Welcome to the People's Club lad, I hope you enjoy your stay!
An Apology

Dear James Beattie, I am sorry for being rude to you and for calling you chubby boy.
I was upset that you sneaked past me, though I now know that it wasn't intentional. Thank you very much for the signed photograph you sent me which I have since framed and looked at many times.
Please know that I love you LOADS and did not mean to be rude... though it probably sounded as if I did.

Mucho loving,
*Emma*
