Vaxjo:  The Town and the University
The name is pronounced by most of the locals as (Vek-weh) but it has a specific pitch to the end that is difficult to write phonetically.  The stress is on the last syllable though.  Others say (Vex-sur).  I prefer the former.

VIS stands for Vaxjo International Sudents, and it's made up of some great students here who coordinate many activites, and generally keep us entertained and happy.  Look at this page for details about trips we take, etc.

Norrlands Natio
n:  www.norrlands-nation.com

You have to be a member of a "nation" to be able to get into two of the student pubs.  Nations are like the Greek system back home, but co-ed, not stupid, much cheaper, non-elitist, and much more fun.  All they do is have dinners, parties, barbeques, and play sports.  I chose Norrlands Nation because they are the largest and had cool red shirts.

Student Pubs:
There are three.  Stallarna and Sivans are on campus.  Pudas is in Seminarievagen, which is where I live.  Stallarna is my favorite.  They have the best music.  The queue (line) can be dreadfully long though.  We're talking 2 hour waits on Friday nights.  So I prefer going on Tuesdays.
