Chicago Thunderun 2000
What a great time we had at this years Chicago Thunderun 2000. Based out of Burnham Harbor near Meigs Field in Chicago. Rich put on a great event. It was too bad the weather didn't cooperate, but it sure made for some great tails of boating on Lake Michigan. Heading back from E. Chicago the laked kicked up some 8 to 10 footers. It was impossible to keep from plowing the bow into the next wave running in trailing seas. But the food was good and the company was great. Can't wait till next year.
These 2 shots from the helicopter show real well how rough the lake was that day. Its kind of hard to see in thes photos but we were all soaked to the bone at this point
In the picture below we had just came out from under a wave. Pretty exciting day.
Click on either of the 2 photos for the rest of the helicopter pictures.
What a great view. Soldiers Field and the Sears tower in the background. The tent to the right of the harbor masters building was the headquartrers for this years event.

View from the stern leaving the harbor. Thats a new 47' Outer Limits. I'm not sure but I think it has 3-900sc's. That boat is beautiful.
The view from the bow looking out of the harbor. The McCormic Place is on the right.
Look who joined our party, the world famous "Gotcha". A 40' Skater w/ t-900sc's.
A little about us What a beatiful shot. Some of the poker runners milling in the harbor w/ the backdrop of the Chicago skyline.
