In the book "the Great Gatsby" the word Interest is seen many different times/ways in the duration of the book.  On Page 172 the word Interested is stated.  My Comment is going to state how Tom and Gatsby used each other for social needs.  Tom had a lack of interest in Gatsby Death.  Tom didn't care about Gatsby in the first place.  Tom used Gatsby for the publicity and the fame.  Gatsby was just his white horse in  the world of the rich.  On the other hand we have Gatsby who has parties all the time to fill less lonely.  It seems to me that Tom and Gatsby used each others to satisfies there social needs.  I believe Gatsby death set him free from all the chaos he had brought among himself.
