Who I am

Welcome to my homepage,

This is Lixin Tang, I am now working as a post-doctoral research associate at Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU). Before I went to the States, I have worked 11 months as a post-doctoral research officer at Central Queensland University(CQU) under the supervision of Prof. Peter J. Wolfs. I obtained my Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Oct. 2004 under the supervision of Prof. M. Faz Rahman. My thesis title is "Improvements of a direct torque controlled IPM drive without a speed sensor." Before I went to Australia, I have worked as an Electric Engineer in Beijing, China for 6 years.

Research interests

My research projects focus on the control of permanent magnet synchronous machine drives and DC/DC converters. Here are some projects:

  • Integrated inverter control for PMSM drives;
  • DC/DC converter with bi-directional power flow.

I have been working in Knoxville, TN, USA since Mar. 2005. It is the second biggest city in the state of Tennessee. The capital city of Tennessee is Nashville, the largest city around is Atlanta in Georgia.
