Hi everybody!

I would like to introduce you to my hometown, St. Albans.

St. Albans is a very old city. It used to be a Roman town many hundreds of years ago. You can still see the remains of some Roman buildings. There is also a famous old abbey, which is like a big church.

First, go to the map of St. Albans and find 'New Greens'. This is the estate in St. Albans where my parents live.

  1. What is the name of the hall to the south-west of my estate?

There is a golf course here where my friends and I chased after golf balls. The golfers chased us sometimes too!

Now go to the St. Albans City Homepage and click on 'Tourism' at the top. Click the link for the 'Tourist & Information Centre' on the left.

  1. What is the address and telephone number of the Tourist & Information Centre and what are the opening times?

This is a good place to start if you visit St. Albans.  Go back to the 'Tourism' page and click 'Attractions'.

  1. What are 3 places that look interesting to visit? Include one interesting thing about each place.

After visiting those places you will probably be tired so let's find a place to relax and have something to eat. Go back to the 'Tourism' page and click 'Restaurants/Pubs' then click 'Pubs'. Find a pub called 'The Six Bells' and click on the link to its website. Click 'Dining' at the top and 'View the menu'.

  1. Choose something delicious for Sunday lunch? What is it and how much is it?

After a little rest I am sure you are ready for some SHOPPING! St. Albans is famous for its street market.  There are lots of bargains to be found. Go back to the 'Tourism' page and click 'Markets'.

  1. How often each week is there a street market? How many market stalls are there?
  1. What is the name of the street the market runs along? Can you find it on the map from question 1?

Now you must be thirsty so let's go and have a nice cup of tea. Go back to the 'Tourism' page and click 'Eat, Drink & Enjoy'. Choose a place from the 'Cafes and Tearooms'. I hate smoke, so choose a non-smoking place.

  1. What is the name of the place? Tell me something about it.

Well this is just a quick look at St. Albans. If you want to have a closer look, go ahead and browse through the whole St. Albans City website.
