Have you ever gone to a major university and paid $22,665 just for tuition? Did you have to then pay seperately for parking, gas, and books? This is what full time tuition costs at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa. USA. This is how much money I have to pay to learn what words mean like free enterprise, disposable income, and capitalism. I can learn what they mean there but practicing them on university property is another story all together. I had to write a letter to the Vice President of business at Duquesne because the university police and my dean were/are harassing me. The following is a passage from the letter describing the harassment. I have been harassed by the campus police and by Dr Hodes, dean of the School of “Leadership” and Professional Advancement; hereafter known as SLPA. The first occasion where I was harassed was in the library. I got a call from a man identifying himself as Dan and he said he wanted to meet me at the library on Saturday afternoon. I stayed after school on Saturday to meet with this alleged “model,” who if I had to guess was probably a university police officer. The people that showed up instead of Dan were two police officers. They said that the dean of Rockwell hall told them to take down all my signs because I was not given permission to post them on campus, which is a lie, but that comes later. They then proceeded to tell me not to post my signs anywhere on campus property or to solicit anyone from on Duquesne University property until I could receive permission to do so. The second time I was harassed was the next day. On that Sunday I was e-mailed to meet a young woman at Gateway Center, which is a very short distance from here. Because she complained of the cold weather for the day, last Sunday, I told her that I go to school a very short distance away and offered to ride her here to campus to interview her for a modeling position with my firm, “Revolution Talent Agency.” She applied to my firm through an Internet model search agency www.onemodelplace.com. I am listed there as a photographer or member number 30999. I am also listed on the Internet for photography, “Reitz Digital Imaging,” and for my agency, “Revolution Talent Agency.” Tara, the model, stated that she once had an application for Duquesne University and commented on how big and beautiful our campus is, but then said that she would never go to school here because of how we were treated. I borrowed a laptop from the library with a wireless web application to be able to show her my various websites and to try to convince her to join my agency. I had my camera here and I took a few test shots of her but I would have liked to get a few more. Before I knew it our interview was interrupted by the Duquesne University police. We were both asked for ID and she was told that since she was not a student here she would have to leave campus. I would like to know what probable cause the police had to interrupt my interview. We were not doing anything wrong and we were not bothering anyone. Because of the initial harassment the day before, I was carrying my state license and presented it to the police while being questioned. Nowhere on that license does it say that I have the right to do business in the state of Pennsylvania anywhere but on Duquesne University property. The next time I was not only harassed but I was threatened by Dean Hodes in two letters sent to my home. He threatened to take me before the student judiciary panel for signs posted according to written instructions posted at the top left hand corner of every bulletin board in Rockwell Hall. I now have pictures of these bulletin boards, my signs stamped that they were approved by the dean, and the written instructions on the bulletin board where the signs were posted, which will prove that my signs conformed to the posted rules.

If my letter to the VP doesn't do me any good I have taken down several listings for ads to charge students 25/hr. for Math tutoring and other ads for people to make money directly off of the students. As for my ads everything is free for the model/talent and the only way that I get paid is if I get them work. My friend at school pulled an ad this week looking for models, 16 year old models. There is no limit to how low these people will stoop to piss me off. When I get a hold of that ad I am going to make copies of it and deliver on to the VP's office myself. I'm tired of school. I keep asking what kind of job I can get when I get my degree and noone can seem to answer this question. My degree is very specialized and my credits won't transfer to Penn State the one about three miles from my house.
