What is Encryption and what is Crytography?

Encryption by definition is any procedure used in cryptography to convert plaintext into ciphertext in order to prevent anyone except the intended recipient from reading that data. There are many types of data encryption, and they are the basis of network security. This means that encryption is used so that when a person is trying to send someone something that they do not want other people to see, they will encrypt it so that only the intended person to receive it will be able to read it. It is a type of security that helps prevent hacking.

Now the definition of cryptography is the discipline which embodies principles, means and methods for the transformation of data in order to hide its information content, prevent its undetected modification, or prevent its unauthorized use. Again in English this means that it is used to hide the information a nd top prevent it from bein g used in te wrong way.Encryption and Crytography go hand in hand.
