Scouting: Extremely Physical, this is Dion's main asset.. Bone crushing hitter who times his hit's well and strikes fear into the oposition.. It's safe to say in the future when Phaneuf is patrolling the blueline for an NHL club not too many forwards will be skating in the zone with their head down.. Has good potential as a 2-way defenseman.. Will take the body instead of the puck on most plays.. Rough in the corners and in front of the net.. Your Ultimate Physical Defenseman.. Defensively is very calm, doesn't run around the zone.. Sometimes makes some bad decisions in his own end electing to throw it up in the wrong direction.. Needs some work on his transition game although has some good skating skills with speed and there is alot of potential there.. Has a booming, low shot from the point.. Solid defenseman.. His physical presence alone makes him worthy of a top 10 pick.. Guys who hit this hard don't come along often.. |
