Tionda Bradley: Leaving kids home alone
Everyday, thousands of kids are left in the care of their older siblings- most of whom are kids themselves. Their mothers are single parents with low income and can not afford professional child care. Friends and relatives often times refuse to provide care for children, leaving single mothers with no choice but to leave the kids home alone. The vast majority of these kids are taught to never open the door for strangers. The clever ones abide by this rule but unfortunately, there are wicked maniacs out there who would prey on the kids of their close friends. You may want to think twice when telling your kids who is safe to open the door for. |

In July of 2001, two young girls, Diamond and Tionda Bradley disappeared from their home in Chicago, Illinois. The girls, ages 3 and 10, were last seen by their mother Tracy Bradley who had left for work at 6:00 a.m that morning. When she returned home 4 hours later, both girls were gone. Ms.Bradley retrieved a note written by Tionda, stating that the girls had went to a nearby store. The girls haven't been seen or heard from since.
Tionda who is now 13, is a black female with light skin and long dark brown hair. Diamond (now 6) is a black female with a medium complexion and medium length black hair. Despite national coverage of the case, police have had no useful leads. Shelia Bradley, an aunt of the Bradley girls, strongly believes the girls were kidnapped by someone who knew their family very well. "If Tionda did write that letter, she was forced to", she said. There is a $30,000 reward being offered to anyone with information leading to the whereabouts of Diamond and Tionda. |
