Just like in the ads you've read or the commercials you've seen ... if you missed the pink dot in the top left hand corner of this page ... then you can see how easy it is to miss th start of a lump. It was easy to miss.
Common misconception, lack of education, and fear are among the many reasons we woman find for not doing Beast Self Examination - BSE. You don't know what type of lumps to feel for ... you don't want to find a lump(s) ... wouldn't you rather be as the proverbial saying goes ... better safe then sorry?!
I know that I personally am in the cancr risk category. Cancer of all types runs on both sides of my family. Honestly, this does not scare me, it has driven me to learn & empower myself ... I cannot change my heredity, BUT, I take care of myself.
~ Dispelling Some Myths:
~Just because you find a lump does not mean you have breast cancer. Lumps can & will be found at certain times during the month ... this in & of itself is very good reason to preform a regular BSE - hormones do have a direct relation to what you will feel.
(7 to 10 day after menstrual cycle is "best" time for BSE in menstrating woman.)
