Mike's Video Game Secrets

Well, I couldn't come up with any decent links for a few of my favorite games, so I created this page to link to. Here is the work in progress.

Gold Medal Challenge '92

You can access a two player mode in the training option. When choosing the country, hold down the B button. Keep holding it until after the second A press. (I think this was from Video Games and Computer Entertainment magazine -- I'll go look it up again one of these days.)

Street Fighter II

To allow fights between identical characters, enter the following in order when the word Capcom appears at the title screen: Down, Right, Up, Left, Y, and B (add X and A for the Super Famicom version). If you have done it correctly, the screen background will change to blue.

In Street Fighter II Turbo, entering the above code at the Street Fighter II logo screen will allow you to turbo up to 10 stars! For more Street Fighter II Turbo secrets, check out the Sega Sages.

You can reassign the control pad buttons without returning to the Option Mode screen. Press the Select button when the world map is displayed before the start of each match and a hidden configuration screen will appear.

Super Baseball Simulator 1.000

To get an unbeatable custom team, just max out one pitcher and pitch him in every inning of every game. The only way you're going to hit this guy is by guessing where the pitch is going to be. There's no way any human can react in time to this guy's fast ball. To really become unbeatable, turn off tiring. In a two player game, this technique will probably lead to a lot of long boring 1-0 games which go to extra innings (actually the game will end much earlier when both parties get tired of swinging and missing). "Thanks" to Ethan for giving me this "pointer"...

For a more fun experience, turn on tiring and play league games.

Super Spike V'Ball

Tired of getting roofed on every play? You can dink the ball by pressing A and B at the same time. (From one of Timmy's friends)

Super Tennis

While you're playing a match, press the Select button to bring up the Score and Statistics screen. Now move to Controller 2 and press the R pad twice, the Left arrow, Down, B, A, L pad, and L pad. If you've done it properly, you will hear applause.

Now press the A or B button on Controller 1. You'll see a display of letters and numbers. Look first at the single digit that appears at the top of the block of numbers. The translation is as follows:

       0 = Player 1   2 = Player 1's partner in doubles

       1 = Player 2   3 = Player 2's partner in doubles

You can change the player by pressing the A buttom. Below you will see a display of four rows of eight letters and numbers, ranging from 0 to 9 and A to F. The top row is the indication of the player's strength and speed. The second and third rows relate to the intelligence of any computer-controlled players. The fourth row controls unimportant characteristics.

Here is the code to a battle against one of the most difficult opponents, Don, who lives on a hidden island:

      2GNYBQ1 4065C6P
      DJSTK8X D3HRFTL
      WJPPDLW 1RK
