Championship Manager 2 (CM2) is a football (a.k.a. soccer) management simulation game produced by Eidos Interactive (formerly known as Domark). You take on the role of a manager of a football club you select and attempt to bring success to the club by winning leagues and competitions. As the manager, you can buy and sell players on the transfer market and decide on the tactics and formations/styles of play to use in matches. If you are successful enough, you can go on to manage international teams.

The reason that CM2 is such a hit is because of its sheer depth and realism. Teams and players in real life are used in the game. Each player has his own ratings in 20 categories such as Passing, Shooting, Tackling, etc. The game engine is also incredibly complex. CM2 is without doubt the best football management game out there.
