From Glick- about that mana shield...
On the Mana
Shield...I am a level 32 mage. I have about 200 hp's. I always
use mana shield ... always. I have 600+ mana. So when I cast mana
shield I get about 800 hit point total...mana+health. I cast
spells like a mad man and drink the 50.00 mana refils only. I
never buy health, never have to be healed by the healer and NEVER
buy the 150.00 full manas...(waste of $$). I keep my belt full of
the 50.00 manas and drink them as needed. Sure my mana goes down
when getting attacked and casting spells but 600+ mana is a boat
load. If I see it getting below 1/2 I drink a mana vial. I can
take on Nightmare mode all the way to level 13 solo. If I didnt
use mana shield I would die in a matter of seconds. Hope this
helps explain it. I dont know any high level mages that dont use
mana shield. It is excellent.
From J. S. Lee- Info on holy bolt
(This is in regards to the effectiveness of Holy Bolt on Diablo) Takes quite of few of them, but it works like a charm. I've done it with my mage at level 27 and the casting speed was such that Diablo didn't even have time to hit me while I was stunning him with Holy Bolt.
From White Zombie- How to kill diablo with the warrior- Here is a strategy for a warrior for killing Diablo. Fill your belt with healing potions. Before opening Diablo's room ( by pulling the levers in the left square of the level) put a whole bunch of long lasting firewalls in front of it. Pull the levers and position yourself in a place where you can shoot into the center of his room whith out any of Diablo's friends seeing you. Shoot a bunch of holy bolts into the room. They will hit Diablo only because they pass through the others. He will chase you and walk into the firewalls. Holy bolt him until he reaches you. Then hack him to death using heal potions when necessary. A sword with fast attack helps but is not necessary on normal difficulty also a shield is good to have. Be resistant to fire too. If you're playing with friends do the same thing and maybe have somebody throw guardians too ( be sure they dont shoot at his friends though).
From zee- how to kill diablo with the mage- This is how I prefer to kill of Diablo with the mage if you aren't cheap and like to kill everything with your hacked 255 Apocalypse Staff. Three words: GUARDIANS, GUARDIANS, GUARDIANS! This is easier to do if you have a warrior accompanying you. This strategy killed him in a matter of seconds for me.

Lepthana- defence against Pkillers- What I do is if I get attacked by a pkiller, I don't
activate player attack but shift-click at him (this works
especially well if you are a rogue). This way you can easily
fight back, but don't have to worry about losing your stuff.
