ref.: "Iteti's mastaba (was: Varia from Turin)" by Federico Rocchi, August 28, 2000

Description:
Stone-built mastaba of Iteti, G 7391, Giza, East Field (to the east of Great Pyramid); late 5th dyn. Among other titles Iteti hold the ones of Inspector of wab-priests of the pyramid of Chefren and Inspector of the Great House. His wife was the royal acquaintance Sentankh.

The following line-drawn map of the mastaba is adapted from Porter&Moss (see below).

In the Turin museum (most probably from the 1903 Schiaparelli's excavations) are:

i) false door (Suppl. 1843): #1 in the map;

ii) 2 paintings of geese (Suppl. 1851 and 1852): #2 a & b in the map;

iii) the head and lower part of a statue of the seated deceased (Suppl. 1876);

The photo here placed shows how the objects in the museum have been arranged in a new room to give the visitors an idea of how the mastaba facade (in yellow on the map above) may have looked.
