Below five pictures of the so-called "Bird of Saqqara". This wooden bird (Length 14.2 cm / Wingspan 18.3 cm) was found in a tomb near Saqqara in 1898, was dated to 200 BC, and was stored in Cairo Museum in the Special Register under No.6347, Rm.22.
There are no copyrights attached to the below five photographs. They were taken by the staff photographer of the Egyptian Museum Cairo sometime in the mid 80's as a gift to Sharon Avery; her husband, Philip Rychel, kindly made them available for this page.
