Drift

Waves crash into warm sand
A thousand grains sift through my hands
The glowing sun brightens the beach
Blue waters stretch beyond my reach
I dive into the oceans cool
Rush of energy, the tide pulls
Swim and float, drift away
On a refreshing summers day

Watching the sunset
From the lifeguard stand
The water sparkles as it meets the sand
In the distance a boat sails by
Overhead the sea gulls fly
As you kiss me it all drifts away
On a perfect summers day

When the stars light up the sky
We take a walk and hear the ocean's cry
I feel the sand beneath my feet
We walk slowly, comfortably, with no beat
You hold me close and I contently sigh
We drift away on this summers night
